Military will meet deadline to end Boko Haram, Buratai assures

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai today in Kaduna reiterated the commitment of the military to end insurgency within the three months deadline given by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buratai spoke with journalists after declaring open the Nigerian Army Finance Corps tenth Biennial Training Conference in Kaduna.
He gave the assurance that with the achievement recorded so far, certainly there is hope that Boko Haram will soon be history.

Earlier in his address, Buratai hinted that the change slogan by the Federal Government, particularly in the area of financial management and the introduction of The Treasury Single Account with the Central Bank has given the Nigerian Army new ideas on how to make judicious use of its funds.
He noted that the existing financial policies such as the electronic payment system, Integrated Personnel Payroll System and the Treasury Single Account among others, which had hitherto been dormant, are now being given impetus, hence the need for the Training Conference.
“It is my expectation that this Training Conference would enable Nigerian Army Finance Corps officers to appreciate the challenges likely to be posed by these new financial policies on our day to day operations.” Hr stated.
