Anthony Joshua was recorded on video recently saying if Deontay Wilder offered him $50 million to fight for the heavyweight championship, he’d take it. Now, Wilder has intimated that his team has offered him exactly that.
In a video embedded on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, Wilder instructed Joshua to tell his promoter Eddie Hearn to check his email.
“I’ve got something special for you,” Wilder said. “By the way, all the money is in the bag. I expect you’ll be a man of your word.”
Joshua had been recorded, as Wilder’s video showed, saying, “I’ll take $50 million up front. If that’s the case, why doesn’t [Wilder’s] team bring me $50 million upfront and we’ll take the fight.
