INEC Releases Final List Of Edo Guber Candidates


Image result for inec nigeriaAhead of the gubernatorial election in Edo State, a comprehensive list of candidates has been released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The list was contained in a statement from INEC.  Signed by Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, INEC Secretary, the list shows that 19 parties will participate in the electoral duel scheduled for 10 September.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in the state, has as its flagbearer 59-year old Mr. Godwin Nogeghase Obaseki, who holds a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). His running mate, Mr. Philip Shuaibu, 46, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be represented by   Mr. Andrew Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a 54-year old lawyer. His running mate is John Yakubu, an MBA holder. The Action Alliance (AA) will field Comrade Ishaka Paul Ofemile, a 57-year old Higher National Diploma (HND) holder. Also on its ticket Ewemade Nancy Osagie, a 37-year old West African School Certificate (WASC) holder.  Mr. Godwin Obaseki of All Progressives Congress (APC). The challenge of the Labour Party (LP) will be posed by Mr. Amos Aroloegbe and Mrs. Jane Osagie, while the Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP) will be represented by Mr. Richard Oronsaye and Omijie Ehinor as the candidate and running mate respectively. The Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) has as candidate and running mate respectively. Other candidates include Mr. Cosmas Irabor of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Onaiwu Osaro of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), David Okoror of Citizens Popular Party (CPP), Tobi Adeniyi of Independent Democrats (ID), Thompson Osadolor of KOWA Party (KP), Peter Omoragbon  of National Conscience Party (NCP) and Akhalamhe Amiemenoghena of People for Democratic Change (PDC).

 Also billed for the contest are Mr. Thomas Sadoh of Progressive People Alliance (PPA), Mrs. Ebun Agol of Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), Mr. Omorogieva Gbajumo of Social Democratic Party, Mr. Shadrach Efogie of United Progressive Party (UPP)  and Mr. Nurudeen Inwanefero of Young People Democratic Party (YDP).
