Yet his mother, Jennifer Bolt, hopes he starts focusing on other things after he stops competing—like having children.
“I would hope he’ll settle down, get married and start his family,” she told CNN.
She sounds like some of our moms, amirite?
“I know he’ll settle down because he has said it,” she said. “He told me many times that he’s going to start his family.”
And we imagine Bolt will be just as impressive as a parent as he is an athlete. After all, he’s disciplined, focused, and doesn’t let anything get in his way. Plus, patience. To reach his all-time level requires so much hard work and patience.
Of watching her son, Bolt’s mother said, “Oh I’m so overwhelmed … the joy … sometimes I cry. The tears are coming out within me. It’s just tears of joy.”
We’re sure, one day—you know, when he’s not busy AF in the Olympics—Bolt will make his mom’s “having kids” wishes come true.
But, until then, we’ll keep watching and cheering him on in Rio. Once the Olympics are over, we’ll cheer him on in following through with his mother’s goals — if he agrees with her, of course
