The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, has said that about 300 militants were killed Friday night during an airstrikes in Borno State. Mr. Abubakar made this known after commissioning a hospital and borehole built by the Nigeria Air Force for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Bama.
He stated out that the Air Force had carried out many successful airstrikes against Boko Haram in the last few weeks. “We have intensified airstrikes in recent weeks and have had outstanding results,” Mr. Abubakar said. “On the 19th of this month [August], 300 terrorists were killed by our night operations.”
The Air Marshal warned the Boko Haram militants to surrender now and face the wrath of justice because there would be no safe haven for them. Earlier, he commissioned the borehole and hospital construction for IDPs and promised that well-trained personnel had been deployed to attend to the health challenges faced by IDPs.
