The 21,600lb (9,797kg) GBU-43/B device, dubbed the “mother of all bombs” (MOAB) with 11 tons of explosives, was dropped on a series of cave complexes at 7pm local time (4pm UK time) on Thursday.
Afghanistan's Defence Ministry today said that no civilians were harmed and a local government spokesman said that 82 ISIS militants had been killed.

Meanwhile America is prepared to launch a preemptive strike against North Korea should officials become convinced Kim Jong-un will follow through with his threat of a nuclear weapons test.
Pyongyang has warned a "big event" is near, and US officials say signs indicate a test could come as early as Saturday, which is the national holiday Day of the Sun.
