Zika: Health Experts Warn On Travel To Miami

The split between Olympic leaders and global anti-doping officials over the Russian doping scandal continues to escalate.
The World Anti-Doping Agency fired back on Monday, a day after IOC President Thomas Bach suggested the agency was to blame for the last-minute chaos over the participation of Russian athletes in the Rio de Janeiro Games.
Bach said the agency should have acted sooner on evidence of state-sponsored doping rather than release the damning report by Canadian investigator Richard McLaren so close to the games, which open on Friday.

Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that his administration will abide by the decision of the International Court of Justice on the Nigeria- Cameroon border.
A statement issued by the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said Buhari gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja when he received a United Nations Mission led by a Special Representative of the Secretary General, Mohammed Ibn Chambers.

The Federal Government is targeting to reduce the costs of its annual importation of various items into Nigeria from N9.85 trillion in 2016 to N8.79 trillion by 2019.
This is part of the proposal the Federal Government plans to make in the 2017-2019 Medium Term Expenditure Framework to be submitted to the National Assembly in October.

According to the document, this shows a decrease of about N1.05 trillion in import bill from 2016 to 2019.

Robbers Storm Lagos Bank, Kill Inspector, Civilian



A four-man armed robbery gang on Monday trailed two bank customers, including a police inspector, to the premises of a new generation bank at the Idimu area of Lagos, robbed and killed them in cold blood.

Dogara in trouble as Jibrin submits petition to EFCC

Jibrin was sighted at the Yellow House headquarters of the EFCC this afternoon in Abuja to formally deliver his petition against his colleagues for allegedly padding the 2016 budget with as much as N40b.
The lawmaker had earlier stated on his twitter handle that he would be visiting some anti-graft agencies in a bid to substantiate his allegation of budget padding against the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara and other principal officers of the House.
Jibrin had recently accused the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun, Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, and the Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, of attempting to pad N40bn into the 2016 budget.
Jibrin said his aim of visiting the various anti-corruption agencies is to ensure that Dogara and the other principal officers are brought to justice.
According to the former Chairman, he will fully cooperate with investigators to enable them understand the depth of budget fraud and abuse of office by the Speaker.

Hotel bombing is latest to rock Kabul

After the explosion, three armed suicide attackers tried to gain entry into the hotel, but were engaged by police, Sediq Sediqqi, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry told Talk911 Nigeria.

Yuriko Koike elected Tokyo's first female governor by landslide

In her campaign, Koike referenced Joan of Arc and anime character Sally the Witch, and vowed to overcome childcare shortages and push female-friendly policies "so that both women and men can shine in Tokyo."
Japanese society is still heavily male-dominated in both politics and business. The World Economic Forum ranks the country 101st out of 145 in terms of gender equality, and only 9.5% of Japan's House of Representatives are women, according to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
